The Healthy Homes heating standard requires fixed heating in the main living room that can heat it to at least 18°C. The right size depends on the room's size, insulation, windows and any open-plan spaces joined to it.
We work out the required heating capacity for the main living room using the Tenancy Services heating assessment tool.

Yes, as long as it's a fixed heat pump that can directly heat the main living room and has enough heating capacity for that room.
What size heat pump does my rental need?
It depends on the main living room's size, insulation, glazing and open-plan areas. We work out the required capacity and recommend a heat pump that meets it.
