Mitsubishi Electric Lossnay

Balanced pressure heat recovery ventilation

Lossnay brings fresh, filtered air into your home from outside, and removes the same amount of stale, moist air at the same time. As the air passes through the Lossnay core, heat from the outgoing air warms the incoming fresh air, so you get fresh air without throwing away the heat.

The result is a drier, healthier home with less condensation, all year round.

Key features

  • Fresh air from outside – Lossnay draws in fresh outdoor air, not air from your ceiling space.

  • Balanced pressure – the same amount of stale air goes out as fresh air comes in, so your home isn't pressurised.

  • Heat recovery – Mitsubishi Electric says Lossnay recovers up to 86% of the heat from the outgoing air.

  • Less condensation and mould – removes moisture-laden air to help keep humidity at a healthy level.

  • Night-time free cooling – bypasses the core to bring in cooler night air on warm summer nights.

  • Wi-Fi control – available on many models, showing how much heat is being recovered and reminding you when the filters need cleaning.

Fresh outside air, not ceiling-space air

Some home ventilation systems draw their air from your ceiling space and push it into the house. Air in a ceiling space doesn't move much, so it's often stale, and it can carry dust, mould and insect or rodent droppings that are hard to filter out.

Lossnay works differently. It's a balanced pressure system that brings in filtered fresh air from outside and removes the same amount of stale air from inside, recovering the heat as it goes. It's designed for modern, more airtight homes, and suits most existing homes too.

Two types of whole-home Lossnay

  • Vertical series (VL-250, VL-350 and VL-500) – a wall-mounted unit that isn't limited to the roof space, so it can go in a laundry, cupboard or garage. Wi-Fi control is available.

  • LGH series – a ducted unit installed out of sight in the ceiling space, with fresh air ducted to each room. A range of sizes suits small to large homes, and it can work alongside a ducted heat pump.

For single rooms, there's also a through-the-wall model for rooms with no ceiling space. We'll look at your home at a free site visit and recommend the right option. Ducted & New Builds
